A Partial Lead is recorded when a user begins a multi-step submission flow, such as a Quiz or a Multi-Step Form, but does not complete the entire flow to the final submission or “Thank You” page.
Partial Leads are a key source of data, showing where users are dropping off in your sales funnel and giving you the chance to re-engage them with the limited information you collected.
Identifying a Partial Lead
When you review your lead data, a Partial Lead is clearly identified in the Lead Status column.
- Status: A partial submission will have the status labeled as “Partial”.
- Data Captured: The lead record will contain only the data that the user submitted up to the point they abandoned the flow (e.g., they submitted the ZIP code and First Name, but not the Email or Phone Number).
Key Applications
The Partial Lead feature is only applicable to components that involve a multi-step user flow, such as:
- Quizzes: Where a user answers a few questions but leaves before the final result or contact step.
- Multi-Step Forms: Where the contact information is typically requested in a later step.
How Partial Leads Are Created (Illustrated in Video)
- A user begins the flow, entering their ZIP Code on the first step of the form.
- The user clicks “Next” and proceeds to the next step, entering their First and Last Name .
- The user clicks “Next” again, reaches the Email and Phone step, but then leaves the page without submitting the final information or completing the flow.
- Because the user completed at least one step and provided some data but didn’t finish, the system records this as a Partial Lead in the Leads dashboard.
